Having landed the role of ‘Gintern’ (described as the “world’s best job for Gin Lovers”) the next logical step for Holly Harwood was to use her knowledge of the spirit and industry to create her own Gin. The first batch was distilled at the end of 2018 following a successful Crowdfunding campaign. It is named simply ‘Holly’s Gin’ as a reflection of the personal journey and investment this adventure has been for her.
Everything about the finished product is inspired by Holly’s love if Art Deco, a London Dry and here home in Cornwall. Holly’s Gin is distilled at the Trevethan Distillery in Saltash, Cornwall in two 300 litre copper stills called Doris and Rose. This distillery was chosen partly as a result of their own Art Dec bottles and history dating back to the 1920’s.
The frosted green glass bottle is distinctive as is the gold leaf design which includes some of the botanicals painted on to it. The shell logo on the bottle is inspired by Holly’s love of Cornish beaches.
Holly’s Gin is distilled using 9 botanicals including passion flower, gentian root and orange to create a delicate and delicious yet fresh and vibrant flavour.
As a new Cornish Gin on the scene, this was a must have to add to The Juniper Club’s Cornish Gin collection. We were also thrilled to be able to call this our January 2019 Gin of the month.
Holly’s perfect serve is:
Plenty of ice
Double measure (5cl) of Holly’s Gin
Good quality tonic (light works well too)
Fresh orange peel
Holly's Gin is a must try option, smooth and delicious!
