Devon, bounded by Cornwall to the west, Somerset to the northeast, and Dorset to the east, has seen a rapid increase lately in the amount of craft gin options emerging from the County which forms part of the South West peninsula.
On it's westerly border with Cornwall, separated by the Tamar is the production of Plymouth Gin, one of the oldest Devon gins having been in production for 200 years.
The City of Exeter has two newer Gin options, the aptly named Exeter Gin and it's stronger relative Ivar the Boneless - both celebrating the heritage of the Devon Captial.
Granny Garbutt's Gin and the stronger Grandad's Revenge (best served cold!) have recently emerged - paying homage to respected family gin lovers.
The sailing community is recognised in this largely coastal county with Distinctly Dartmouth Gin, stunning inside and out! Guaranteed to warm the cockles of any sailors heart!
Sailing also stars in Salcombe Gin's Start Point Gin - perfect for a summers evening tipple and admiring the ocean views.
Moving to the wilder inland moors, Exmoor hosts the production of Wicked Wolf Gin and their recent collaboration with Exmoor Ales in the launch of Exmoor Gold Gin.
Foraging on Dartmoor has resulted in the lesser known Ten Tor Gin, fluctuating with the seasons and the variant botanicals.
No doubt as the taste for quality Gin flourishes in Devon we will see more emerging Devon Gin options
